With the 501 Jean celebrating its 150th anniversary, Levi's is continuing the festivities with yet another collaboration with New Balance. No stranger to each other's design languages, the duo have come together once again to deliver a fresh take on the MT580 silhouette.
Looking back to the '70s, this latest pack takes direct inspiration from mountain biking and the sport's origins. Levi's was often a choice of uniform for these enthusiasts due to its hard-wearing and durable construction, making sure the cyclists could push the limits in the sport's early days.
Two renditions of the MT580 arrive as part of this pack, respectively sporting either beige or grey makeup. Each pair utilises Levi's iconic denim fabric along with suede across the uppers. A robust rubber outsole can be seen underfoot, providing ABZORB and ROLLBAR-enabled performance. To bring things together, finishing touches arrive in the form of Levi's iconic red tag and New Balance's "N" logo on the lateral walls.
These pairs are expected to launch on the 6th of December via Levi's and on the 7th via New Balance. In other footwear news, only five pairs of these Timothée Chalamet-designed "Wonka" Nike Dunks exist.
