If you missed out on dropping £2K on the recent Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1s courtesy of the late, great Virgil Abloh, then listen up. There's a brand-new set of sustainable sneakers on the way from the luxury brand, that are reminiscent of the Air Forces and even adopt Abloh's sustainable development logo.
The previous menswear artistic director certainly made his sustainable stamp on the brand. This Abloh-designed LV trainer takes on the '70s design that the company love, whilst updating it with a modern, earth-friendly twist. 90% of the sneaker is made from recycled and bio-sourced materials, including the laces, which are constructed from recycled plastic, a recycled polyester tongue, and a 94% recycled polyurethane sole.
The upper is made from a corn-based, vegan plastic called Biopolioli; a material first used on the Louis Vuitton Charlie sneaker unveiled last year.
Finally, the sneakers are set to come in a recycled cardboard box, with the vegetable ink used for the printing, and a felt dust bag made from Tencel.
The "Green" iteration will be the first to drop this month, followed by the "Black" and "Red" colourways at a later date.
In other news, the Louis Vuitton ”LV Archives” set of socks will cost you $2,000!
