If you haven’t yet added a pair of retro runners to your rotation, then we’d suggest doing so pretty quickly, as the dad shoe-adjacent trend is taking the scene by storm right now. And, if there’s one brand that does it better than anyone else, it’s New Balance, which made the call to give its 860 model a little extra push this year when it dropped collaborative pairs with Aimé Leon Dore. The style remains a firm focus for the brand as we move into the latter half of 2023, as demonstrated by this “Earth & Mars” pack, which after finding success as an Asia exclusive earlier in the year, is reported to be dropping in western markets over the next few months.
As the pack’s name suggests, the pairs are set to drop in two colourways. The “Earth” pair takes on a slightly more colourful ensemble than its counterpart, as sleek silver blends into shades of green and yellow, while greys and blacks add to the techy runner vibe. The “Mars” pair takes on a duskier look, with tonal beiges and creams working their way from front to back.
Even though the New Balance 860 V2 exudes a 90s vibe, the model actually debuted in the early 20s, so as far as comfort goes, you can rest assured that they’re up to scratch, with N-ERGY-infused midsoles sitting comfortably underfoot.
Right now, there's no confirmation on when the New Balance 860 "Earth & Mars" pack will land in the UK, but be sure to hit the release reminders below if you're thinking of picking up a pair.
