In celebration of the Chinese New Year, Nike has unveiled its Air Force 1 Low “Snakeskin” commemorating the Year of the Snake and adding a layer of opulence to the traditionally all leather shoe.
Since the 1980s, Nike has been mixing exotic, premium materials found in fine leather goods with sports products. The Air Python is an early example of this stylish trend, which is now standard in the world of fashionable footwear. Over the years, we've seen Nike introduce similar concepts in sneakers like the Air Force 1 Low White Python and the Air Max 90 Python Grey. Continuing this legacy is this upcoming iteration that will join the official “Year of the Snake” model.
The Air Force 1 Low "Snakeskin" features a black leather base with snake print on the toe guard, lace collar, and heel. The Swoosh logo appears with a dark ashy brown suede, finishing off the look. You see the typical AF1 branding on the tongue tag, insoles, embroidered Nike heel logo, and the Air emblem on the midsole. The sneaker rests on a brown midsole and black outsole, while matching brown laces with dubraes tie it together for a clean, reptilian finish.
Though an official release date hasn't been announced, we anticipate these will launch early next year, coinciding with the Chinese New Year celebrations at the end of January. For further updates, continue to follow The Sole Supplier.
