Nike is Dropping the Vomero 18 with Max Cushioning Next Year

The Vomero line is about to welcome a new family member, packed with what seems like one of the biggest cushioning on running shoes. The Nike Vomero 18 will be strutting into stores on 27th February 2025.

Nike, famous for making some of the best running shoes, has just launched an exciting new lineup of road running shoes for 2025, with the Vomero 18 leading the pack.

For those familiar with the Vomero series, the 18 introduces a new design era. Beneath its revamped sole and upper lies cutting edge technology typically reserved for Nike’s premium performance shoes.

The demand for thicker soles in running footwear is undeniable, and the Vomero 18 delivers on that. It boasts a 46mm stack height, 6mm taller than its predecessor, marking the highest in the line. This increased stack height features a powerful combination of full length ZoomX and ReactX in the heel and forefoot, replacing Cushlon 3.0. These lighter, more responsive foams enable a thicker sole without compromising firmness.

The Vomero 18 is designed to offer maximum cushioning, which is ideal for everyday runs whether you're an experienced runner or a newcomer to the local running club. This new silhouette aligns with Nike’s streamlined Road Running Footwear Lineup, focusing on Maximum Cushioning, Responsive Cushioning, and Supportive Cushioning.

“Runners were telling us they need a more simplified way to find our product and grounded in a benefit they care for,” said Marian Dougherty, Nike’s senior director of global running footwear while speaking to Forbes. The Pegasus 41 and Pegasus Plus are now available on Nike.com, with the Pegasus Premium set to launch in January 2025.

The Vomero 18 will be released globally on 27th February, with Plus and Premium variants following later in 2025. New Structure models are also expected next year. Additionally, the announcement includes fresh running essentials: Nike Swift for women and Nike Stride for men.
