The upcoming Nike KD 17 introduces another heartfelt entry in Kevin Durant's signature line with its "Aunt Pearl" colourway, paying tribute to his late Aunt Pearl who lost her fight with lung cancer. Set to launch later this week, the sneaker sports an all pink design, carrying a meaningful story.
Durant's most cherished sneakers embrace sentimentality with the annual "Aunt Pearl" edition. With the release of this latest version approaching, we finally have detailed official photos of the Nike KD 17 "Aunt Pearl."
For those who might not know, Durant and Nike started the "Aunt Pearl" theme with the Nike KD 4 in 2012 to honour Pearl Williams, Durant's great aunt who played a significant role in his life before passing away from lung cancer in 2000. Each new KD model includes its own special colourway, usually in pink, with a portion of the proceeds supporting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
The KD 17 "Aunt Pearl" keeps this tradition alive, using rosy shades throughout its design. The sneaker features Air Max Plus inspired TPU waves that transition to suede, decorated with embossed roses on the upper. It moves from a graphic Swoosh to an embroidered one, with alternating "AP" and "KD" text on the heels.
Dropping on 15th November, the Nike KD 17 "Aunt Pearl" will be priced at £145. Hit the bell icon to get notified when they release.
