Nike has reimagined the classic "dad shoe" into a versatile hybrid that matches today’s athleisure and functional footwear trends. The new look Zoom Vomero 5 Roam blends the shoe’s heritage with modern practicality, appealing to sneakerheads and those seeking stylish, functional options for outdoors this holiday season.

Originally hitting the pavement in 2010 as a performance running shoe, the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 has sprinted its way into the sneaker world, fusing performance, comfort, and retro running inspired style. As we head into the winter season, we look at the Vomero 5 Roam, a weatherised version that allows fans to enjoy classic Vomero features all year long, even in chilly, wet winter weather.

The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 Roam is a fresh take on the popular Vomero line, perfect for outdoor adventures and casual hikes. It keeps the cushioning loved by runners and fans of athleisure sneakers while adding rugged features for tougher terrains. One highlight is the sturdy upper with a moulded rubber mudguard running from toe to heel for extra protection in harsh settings.

The updated Vomero is ideal for the wet UK weather, thanks to the water repellent materials in the base. Unlike the OG's mesh upper, the Vomero 5 Roam is made from ripstop nylon. Suede eyelets and a smart lacing system with an easy toggle offer a snug fit. Reflective bits on the heel pull tab boost visibility when low light conditions, making the Vomero 5 Roam ready for the outdoors.

Comfort is key with the Vomero 5 Roam, thanks to dual Air Zoom bags and a full length Cushlon 3.0 foam layer in the midsole. This combo provides responsive cushioning, making these kicks perfect for long wear, whether you're hitting trails or city streets. We also see a raised midsole compared to the OG, giving you better clearance for stepping on muddy surfaces. The differences continue on the tread, which is much more aggressive compared to the OG with an upgraded pattern for better grip on different surfaces.

Available in a range of colourways such as Summit White, Black Light Silver, Racer Blue, and Flax, we can't help but notice some cues taken from the Bad Bunny x adidas Campus and the Moncler Trailgrip GTX, featuring a similar two-tone arrangement.
