After numerous collaborations between adidas and Bad Bunny on athleisure sneakers like the Campus, Gazelle, and Forum, the duo is now set to introduce a pure performance runner. And what better way to unveil the first on foot look than by having Olympic gold medalist Noah Lyles showcase them?
Lyles was in Las Vegas for the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix this past weekend, where the world’s fastest man sported something special: the "soon to be released" Bad Bunny x adidas Originals adiZero SL72. This marks the first on foot glimpse of the hybrid sneaker, featuring an SL72 inspired upper paired with the modern adiZero sole, enriched with tons of layering.
Lyles wore the “Off White/Chalk/Wonder White” colourway; a monochromatic design that emphasises its unique construction, accented by subtle blue branding and a single black detail on the heel.
The upper part of the shoe retains the classic SL72 look, while the approach toward the midsole transitions to a more contemporary running shoe design, including wide mesh, shaggy suede overlays, and lined details on the heel. A clean midsole completes the look.
Stay tuned to The Sole Supplier for more updates on the Bad Bunny x adidas Adizero SL72 release. Early reports suggest three colourways will debut on 15th December, though adidas has yet to confirm this date.
