It's certainly true that Boston footwear label New Balance have their hands full of upcoming high-profile collaborations with the likes of Teddy Santis Aime Leon Dore, Stone Island, and many other prominent names in the fashion industry. That being said, New Balance is still able to maintain an intense focus on their staple silhouettes in preparation for the fan-favourite season of the year. Set to release this weekend, the New Balance 991 Shy Pink is the ultimate kicks you need this springtime.
Finely crafted from the sportswear giant's UK-based factory in the coastal village of Flimby, this highly-anticipated NB991 is one of many colourways ready to roll out this year to commemorate the model's 20th anniversary.
To maintain the trainer's OG design, New Balance graces their runner-turned-lifestyle kicks with an upper housing premium nubuck leather and ultra-breathable mesh components. Panels from heel to toe then indulge in luscious hues of pastel pink, complemented with grey and white accents that land on significant parts for a touch of contrast, notably the italicised "N" logos midfoot and the additional NB hits on the tongue, insoles, and heel respectively. The retro-inspired New Balance shoes are finally rounded with a dual-toned ABZORB midsole that delivers all-day comfort and cushioning.
What is there not to love about the New Balance 991 "Shy Pink"? A shoedrobe staple with an eye-catching colour palette, these will no doubt be an absolute banger with avid New Balance collectors.
