adidas is tapping straight into Pixar nostalgia. Ahead of the highly anticipated premiere of Toy Story 5, the German sportswear giant has revealed a fresh collaborative pack focusing on three of cinema’s most famous cartoon characters.

For Jessie and Woody, the design team chose the incredibly popular Samba silhouette, giving the classic football shoe a complete Western makeover.
The special Mary Jane version of the silhouette channels the cowgirl's signature style by replicating her cow print chaps across the upper and the distinct T toe overlay. To further cement the Western theme, denim details cover the three stripes, while ornate cowboy style stitching decorates both the heel tab and the utility strap that fastens across the top of the foot.
Woody’s iteration relies heavily on textile contrasts to tell the Sheriff’s story. Instead of the usual traditional leather, the upper utilises a rugged material layout that mirrors the character's signature outfit.
The Sheriff's pair swaps out standard leather for a canvas-like blue denim across the main body, paired with a tan suede overlay on the front of the shoe. The three stripes and inside collar copy the exact yellow and red checkered print from the character's Western shirt.
Around the back, a bright red heel piece references his signature neck scarf, whilst the iconic steer head belt buckle transforms into a metallic lace treasure sitting right at the bottom of the eyestay. For me, the standout detail here is easily that belt buckle dubrae.
The three stripes have also looked after the younger crowd with a performance oriented silhouette dedicated to everyone's favourite Space Ranger. The collection introduces a tech forward running shoe that mimics the Buzz Lightyear’s armour by blending clean white mesh with the recognisable purple, bright green, red, and blue panelling.
Chrome silver overlays support the structure alongside custom tongue text reading LIGHTYEAR, whilst the children's size includes an interactive flashing light in the heel triggered by a clicker on the back of the sole.
The shoes are set to drop in June, via the adidas website.
