Renowned Japanese designer Ryota Iwai is one of New Balance's best collaborators despite having only a few models signed to his contemporary fashion label AURALEE. While further information regarding its collaborative NB2002R is still obscure, fans of the Tokyo-based brand are treated to a new teaser, this time a three-shoe pack featuring the retro-futuristic XC-72.
First previewed at the brand's Fall/Winter 2022 runway show, the AURALEE x New Balance XC-72 walks the stage with three tonal colourways, all of which complement the collection's neutral colour palette. The first pair sees a chocolatey-brown hue with a contrasting black rugged midsole underfoot.
The second AURALEE XC-72 features a much lighter colour than the former, with a combination of pale yellow and beige hues adorning the suede-and-leather-woven construction. Finally, the latter indulges in a series of tonal blue shades from heel to toe, covering the sidewall "N" logos whereas the rest are free from any bold branding details.
