Nike's Dunk silhouette has emerged in plenty of renditions since it returned to the sneaker universe in 2019, with some even fetching a high resale price due to highly coveted designs from influential figures in the industry such as Virgil Abloh and Travis Scott. But with that said, we do not doubt that hardcore Dunk fans prefer original colourways rather than the new ones. And now that leaked images of the Nike Dunk High "University Red" have surfaced online—dressed in an OG "Be True to Your School" outfit from 1985, old school shoe collectors are already gearing up for drop day.
The "University Red" colourway shows no wild colour blockings and fancy motifs, just a simple two-toned makeup of clean white and bold red. So what makes it truly special? It was one of the Nike Dunk's first colourways and designed for St. John's University.
Just like the Nike Dunk Low SP "University Red" from last year, these high-cut, retro basketball shoes arrive with the same crisp white leather base, setting the stage for "University Red" overlays to pop. While a full-length cushioned midsole sits downside, familiar components that we all know and love remain on this new version to complete the timeless ensemble: profile Swooshes, perforated toe boxes, branded tongue labels, and mini heel pull tab.
An official release date for the Nike Dunk High "University Red" is yet to be confirmed, so if you want to introduce this pair to your lineup, we suggest you stay locked in right here at The Sole Supplier for all the latest Nike releases. In similar news, the Nike Dunk Low "Goldenrod" channels Wu-Tang vibes.
