One of the things that made the NMD R1 so popular was the sheer amount of hyped collaborations available. Kicking things off back in 2015 with Nice Kicks, the Nomad silhouette went on to generate 100s of partnerships, each one more sought-after than the next. As the S1 begins its journey, we're now taking a look at the first coveted collab to grace the new silhouette - the RIMOWA x adidas NMD S1!
Teaming up with the high-quality luggage manufacturer, RIMOWA has partnered with some of the industry's greatest names. From Supreme to Off-White, this marks the first time that the Cologne-based brand will be linking up with the Herzogenaurach-based footwear giant, resulting in a dual German collection that is straight up made in Germany too. With an "Olive" Primeknit upper that seems to be inspired by the Yeezy 450, bold orange accents throughout offer up a subtle yet striking pop of contrast. Thick rope laces and a heel pull tab give the NMD a utilitarian vibe, while branded tabs on the tongue cement the collab.

Of course, you can't talk about this shoe without mentioning the extra chunky midsole underfoot. Done up in a translucent khaki hue, the rubber unit houses a hefty amount of Boost within. This is then decked out in a series of adidas Trefoils, nodding to classic adi silhouettes like the Marathon.
Set to arrive in a special edition box, we wouldn't be too surprised if the RIMOWA x adidas NMD S1 dropped alongside a wide range of carrying options, considering the former is renowned for that.
