Since 2005, McQ has existed as Alexander Mcqueen's contemporary diffusion line, and to this day seeks to modernise both clothing and footwear through fresh and innovative techniques. This latest McQ Aratana is no exception to this rule and boasts both an exceptional build and a stunning subdued appearance.
The name Aratana derives from the Japanese word for "new beginnings" or "newness", which might explain the fresh direction the brand seems to have taken with this model. The shoe itself has been designed by Myles O'Malley, creative designer and founder of Areté, an Amsterdam based design studio. With O'Malley's previous clientele including the likes of Nike and Raf Simons, it comes as no surprise this shoe parades extraordinary style.
The upper portion of the shoe sports a blend of quality leather backed up by fine suede overlays. Alongside this, an intricate lacing system inspired by nautical sails and parachute cords layers the top and sides of the body. The lower segment sports a chunky retro midsole, complete with button-like details on the side.
Shifting your focus to the colour, you'll notice a clean and crisp "White Opaque" colourway that consists of both white and off-white hues. This shoe is perfect for pairing with a light wash pair of jeans and a simple white tee for a minimalistic styled summer fit.
If you're looking to cop, this sneaker is available right now over at GOAT! Sizes are going quickly so make sure you don't miss out! In other news, the UNDEFEATED x Nike "Dunk Vs AF1 5 On It" is dropping soon.
