Kobe Bryant's deep connection with the Nike Air Force 1 is well known, thanks to the many "player exclusive" colourways he wore during his time with the Los Angeles Lakers. As Nike CEO John Donahoe confirmed the relaunch of the Kobe brand earlier this year, we are now beginning to see a series of new lines set for coming months, starting with this very clean and very "Kobe" AF1.
Nike has rejuvenated Kobe's legacy with designs like the Reverse Grinch, Italian Camo, and Venice Beach. Added to this lineup is Kobe Bryant x Nike Air Force 1 Low; Black Mamba's PE style colourway, dropping in December.
The latest Kobe Bryant edition of the Nike Air Force 1 Low sports a White, Varsity Maize, and Varsity Purple colour scheme inspired by the Los Angeles Lakers. The pair features a White leather base with Varsity Maize accents on the Swoosh, tongue tag, heel tab, insoles, midsole branding, and outsole. Varsity purple shows up throughout the branding and is embroidered around the Swoosh.
You’ll also find Kobe branding on the tongue tag, complete with his signature right below the Nike Air text. Despite earlier reports, this is a brand new design, similar to the Air Force 1 Mids Kobe wore in the 2002-03 NBA season.
Originally scheduled for an April 2024 release, the Kobe Bryant x Nike Air Force 1 Low will now launch on 6th December 2024. It will be available through Nike and select retailers online and in store, priced at £125 in men's sizes.
