After setting up “Virgil Abloh Securities” after the designer’s passing, Shannon Abloh continues to work with her late husband’s collaborators to ensure that his existing projects are still executed in line with his vision. In an interview with the New York Times last year, Mrs Abloh confirmed that there was still a year’s worth of Off-White x Nike projects in the pipeline, and these releases continue to trickle out at a respectful pace. Though images of this particular pair surfaced a while ago, the Swoosh has now confirmed the release of the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid SP “Varsity Maize”, so here’s what we know so far.
Following on from the “Pine Green” offering, this Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid once again features a two-tone take, with bright yellow overlays sitting atop a crisp white base. The same titular hue continues on the laces, ankle straps, tongues and heel tabs, as well as the famed Off-White zip tie that comes threaded onto the secondary lace unit. This second lacing system arrives in bright white, complementing the matching Swooshes, midsoles and grim reaper embroidery at the heel. This all comes topped off with a yellow outsole, complete with the same spiked tread detailing we’ve seen on other Off-White x AF1 Mid releases.
Though a release date is still yet to be revealed, these official images hint that the “Varsity Maize” Off-White x Air Force 1 Mid SP will be dropping soon. In the meantime, be sure to hit the release reminder links below to get notified as soon as they drop, and check out the upcoming A Ma Maniére x Air Jordan 5.
