The Nike Air Max 97 has just had a biblical update, in collaboration with Brooklyn based brand, MSCHF. The streetwear sneaker has been infused with 60 cubic centimetres of Holy Water, taken from the River Jordan with a clear nod towards Jesus walking on water.
Further religious design aspects come through on the silhouette, such as the red insoles getting infused with Frankincense, as well as the bold metal crucifix on the lace lock of the sneaker in a never seen before design.
The white upper on the Air Max 97 keeps a clean aesthetic on the silhouette, with the laces and tongue all in the same hue. This makes the crucifix, as well as the water within the Max Air unit below foot stand out, making even more of a statement on the Jesus Air Max 97.
MSCHF branding decorates the heel's pull tabs, as well as further writing on the mudguard by the toe box, giving nods towards Matthew 14:25 inscription, in which the bible speaks about Jesus walking on the water.
This sneaker sold out in minutes and extremely limited quantities but is now reselling on several resell websites for $3000, so if you're looking to cop this holy sneaker, be sure to tag us in your on foots!
