A classic colourway gets a modern update to keep up with this archival model from the adidas City Series. The adidas Munchen is one of the most popular lifestyle shoes named after a city. While it underwent updates throughout the years, the Munchen stays true to its adidas DNA. This adidas Munchen “Scarlet Silver” rendition emphasises the serrated 3-Stripes with its shiny silver texture.
The adidas Munchen emerged in the late 70s as an all-around training shoe and looked completely different than the pairs today. Named after the Bavarian capital, home to the annual Oktoberfest, the Munchen flaunted a design ahead of its time. The shoe is constructed in suede fabrics on the forefoot, while mesh comprises the rest of the base. Leather serrated 3-Stripes cover both sides, intended to keep the upper structure solid and stable. The 2015 reissue of the adidas Munchen as part of Gary Aspden’s SPEZIAL line changed the model’s design into a more lifestyle-centric build. It now features a full suede upper with a thin gum rubber sole similar to the Samba.
This colourway features a scarlet red suede upper with glossy silver accents on the 3-Stripes and heel tab. Gold Munchen labels adorn the lateral side, while classic Trefoil logos comprise the tongue and heel. The low-profile gum rubber sole completes the clean and classic makeover.
