Did you know that the first basketball sneakers were made from canvas and rubber? As early as 1917 Converse introduced its non-skid basketball shoes with rubber soles and canvas uppers now known as Chuck Taylor All Stars. With adidas taking over the basketball scene in the 1970s, the brand also introduced its own pared-down canvas sneaker, the Nizza. This low-top Nizza RF is as simple as it gets. The upper is pure white in sturdy, breathable canvas. The laces, tongues, heel pull tabs all follow suit. The 3-Stripes on both the medial and lateral quarter panels are composed of white exposed stitching. Branding is subtle on the tongues with a white-on-white treatment whilst royal blue monogram adidas branding covers the insoles. An off-white rubber toe bumper and an off-white vulcanised sole unit with a gum rubber tread round out the style of this shoe.
