Legendary Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto is working his magic this season with the brand new adidas Y-3 Salvation White Black! A complete re-imagination of the iconic FYW S-97 silhouette, which was actually revived earlier this year, this is a must cop for any sneaker collection, and here’s why!
Taking on the Three Stripes’ first Feet You Wear shoe that debuted back in 1997, Yamamoto has replaced the conventional leather and mesh construction with a stretchy Primeknit upper for a comfortable sock like fit.
While it may sound like he has compromised on high quality materials, that’s far from reality, as he has introduced buttery smooth suede panelling across the toebox and heel, as well as a transparent TPU cage that wraps around around the forefoot, forming the lacing system.
For the first time ever, the adidas Y-3 Salvation White Black features a full length Boost midsole in addition to the classic foam unit. This provides comfort that’s on another level. To round it all off, “Y-3” branding hits the tongue, while the designer’s iconic signature shoots across the lateral side, completing the avant-garde aesthetic.
A sneaker that will surely go down in the history books, the brand new adidas Y-3 Salvation White Black is a must have for any shoe collection! Set to drop on July 17th, if you aren’t a fan of white shoes, then you’ll be pleased to know that it will be dropping alongside a stealthy black version!
