The resurging popularity of retro running trainers continues to soar, with ASICS's recent silhouettes perfectly capturing the trend. Launched in early 2023, the ASICS GEL-NYC takes its inspiration from three running silhouettes. The upper sources its design from the GEL-Nimbus 3 with added elements from the ASICS MC-PLUS V. Both pairs originate from the early 2000s running catalogue. Constructed in mixed materials, this clean colourway features a white mesh base and sail white suede overlays with glossy grey synthetic leather panels. The grey suede ASICS stripes on the sides deliver a throwback look, complementing the grey visible GEL cushioning on the midsole, which originated from the GEL-Cumulus 16’s midsole tooling. The sail white rubber outsole complements the aged aesthetics of the shoe to complete the makeover.
