As the name would suggest, the MITA x ASICS GT-II Squirrel Brown is inspired by our favourite furry wood creature. Somehow, the creative duo have managed to do that homage justice with a full textured sneak.
It’s not the first time that Japanese base Mita Sneakers have joined forces with ASICS. Based out of Tokyo, this world-renowned sneaker and streetwear destination has an affinity for on-trend and unique styles. And what could be more unique than a squirrel inspired release?
Premium suede dominates across the GT II – a less prominent ASICS silhouette that boasts impressive performance features. That includes the classic Gel cushioning underfoot along with rope laces. Unlike the Gel Lyte III which opts for a split tongue construct, this pair does include a ‘full’ crafted tongue.
Two shades of brown feature – a darker one at the rear complimented by light brown at the front. As you’ll see from these images, it’s the addition of ‘squirrel’ like fur across the upper which sets this apart as an exclusive. It’s not everyday that we see such an unusual material choice.
