AURALEE x New Balance 1906R Flint Stone

Japanese fashion brand AURALEE reunites with New Balance for a two-pack collaboration featuring the retro running trainer New Balance 1906R. The two brands continue their productive partnership after dropping high-heat styles like the NB 2002R, XC-72, RC30, and 550 in the past few years. This AURALEE x New Balance 1906R “Flint Stone” displays the Japanese label’s meticulous attention to detail with a minimalist ensemble in a near-greyscale colour palette.

The shoe boasts a muted blue open-hole mesh base with grey leather and nubuck reinforcements, replacing the typical synthetic leather overlays to achieve minimalist sophistication. Nylon forms the N logos on the sides, replicating the midfoot lace holes on the eyestays. Yellowish pre-aged design aesthetics decorate the ACTEVA LITE midsole, complemented with a neutral khaki hue on the heel ABZORB and SBS portion. AURALEE branding hides on the left pair’s sockliner, the only label from the Tokyo-based brand to appear in this collab. Terry cloth collar lining delivers plush comfort around the ankles. Distressed waxing treatment on the rubber outsole completes this luxe NB 1906R iteration.
