South Korean designer Do Hee Kim unveils his latest New Balance 509 collaboration to expand the brand’s techy runner catalogue. This project by the XLIM founder follows the two colourways from late 2024, which helped the early 2000s model gain attention in the streetwear scene. Draped in vibrant colours and lush materials, the Do Hee Kim x New Balance 509 “Red” offers a head-turning style.

This retro runner features a bright red hue throughout the diamond mesh upper and hairy suede overlays. Light tan accents highlight the “N” logo on the lateral panel, complementing the embroidered “509” label and laces. A tighter mesh fabric constructs the vamp for additional structure. The neutral-toned midsole boasts a reliable ABZORB technology for all-day comfort, propped up by a solid rubber outsole donning flexible treads.
