New Balance’s first step into the lifestyle sneaker market, the 574, surfaces in triple black with a touch of gum. First released in 1988, the shoe grew in popularity without ever being advertised. This was due to its accessible price and premium look. Today, it’s described as “the most New Balance shoe ever.” Take a closer look at the New Balance 574 “Black Gum”.

This NB 574 has a black suede upper from heel to toe and from base to overlays. The “N” logos on the flanks are black suede with dark grey leather outlines. The branding on the tongues and insoles is also grey, matching the heel clips. A black and grey EVA midsole with ENCAP cushioning and a grippy, caramel-coloured gum rubber outsole cap off this release.
