Japanese luxury fashion label Issey Miyake joins forces with New Balance for its Spring and Summer 2024 collection. This first footwear collaboration between the two powerhouse brands focuses on the barefoot mobility concept, synchronising with the seasonal capsule’s “natural and honest shape” theme. This Issey Miyake x New Balance MT10 “Black” headlines the three-part series, ushering in a luxurious spin on the minimalist trail-running shoe.
This iteration features a blacked-out mesh underlay with premium leather overlays covering most of the upper’s exterior. Ripstop textile bolsters the forefoot and eyestays, whilst the synthetic layers on the rear act as heel counters. Its lightweight structure mimics the weightlessness of running barefoot, ideal for nature trips. A signature “N” embellishes the lateral side, adorned with a “Minimus” branding as a nod to the brand’s range of minimalist trainers. The bright yellow “Vibram” label adds a pop of colour, hugging the low-profile rubber sole underfoot to cap off its design.
