Air Jordan 1 Mid NYC Subway

The Air Jordan 1 Mid “Subway” is an ode to the supportive staff of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority in New York City. This kids’ exclusive colourway is part of the Jordan Wings Design Program, the winning entry among 130 high school students tasked to create an original AJ1 centred on the theme of “role models”.

This limited-edition iteration features a greyscale suede upper with water-resistant properties to withstand the rigours of the NYC weather. The understated palette and reflective Swooshes on the sidewalls resemble the signature colours of MTA trains. A "Do Not Lean On Doors" is a warning sign typically found inside railway systems. The Multicolour “Wings” motif on the rear represents train lines, a detail repeated on the branded tongue and sockliner. An inspirational “Always Go Forward” message adorns the lateral forefoot, referring to hardworking MTA crews keeping North America’s largest public transit system running. A “Thank You For All You Do” statement appears inside the tongue. Colourful speckles on the midsole and inner lining mimic the floor design on the station, capping off the myriad of details on the sneaker.

The shoe includes a silicone Jumpman hang tag and a special-edition box brimming with eye-popping details inspired by NYC Subway system.
