Nike Air Max 95 Mystic Red

While most people know that human anatomy inspired Sergio Lozano to design the Air Max 95, did you know that erosion also played a part in the design? That’s because Lozano saw rain eroding soil at the Nike HQ at Beaverton, Oregon and that got him into thinking of a design that would lock in structure. That structure was the human body, with muscles fixed onto the bones. The rest is performance running history. Meet one of the latest iterations of the Air Max 95, the Nike Air Max 95 “Mystic Red”.

This AM95’s layered upper is composed of leather panels at the bottom section in dark mystic red followed by a nylon layer and a ripstop layer in picante red. White embroidered signature profile Swooshes stand out on the lateral heel panels, near the collar. The mesh overlays on the vamp are sail-coloured whilst the gridded tongues are white. Air Max branding in sail and picante red adorns the tongues and white Nike Air branding is embossed on the heel tabs. A white midsole with exposed Air Max units at the midfoot and the heel and a black rubber outsole cap off this release.
