Nike’s Yardrunners program returns for another collection in 2025, this time unveiling fresh Air Max 95 iterations inspired by the brand’s partner HBCUs. Launched in 2020, the series celebrates various Historically Black Colleges and Universities through limited-edition footwear, all of which have been made possible with the help of school alumni, students, and other involved individuals. Part of the 6.0 capsule, the Nike Air Max 95 “Yardrunners Spelman” pays homage to the Atlanta-based all-girls HBCU that focuses on liberal arts.
Sporting the college’s signature colours, this AM95 features light blue, grey, white, and black on the wavy upper. The animal print on the suede panel and TPU shank plate nods to Spelman College’s jaguar mascot, bringing school pride to greater heights. An embroidered Swoosh adorns the lateral panel, while the “S” symbol and the year “1881” animate the tongue. Additional storytelling details include the branding on the insole and the “Thy Name We Praise” hymn on the medial rear section. The 3M reflective lines on the nylon eyelets help you stand out when exposed to light and camera flash. The crisp white PU midsole surrounds the Big Bubble in the heel and visible Max Air in the forefoot for maximum shock absorption and responsiveness. To cap off the premium design and rich storytelling, these 110s arrive in a special-edition package.
