NBA all-time leading scorer and Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James brings his co-owned clothing and sneaker brand UNKNWN to a collaboration with Nike. The King just finished his 20th season in the NBA, reaching the Western Conference Finals after dethroning last year’s NBA champions. This UNKNWN x Nike LeBron 20 “Message in a Bottle” takes design elements from beaches in Miami, Florida, to form a unique colour combination.
LeBron James’ childhood friends, Jaron Kanfer and Frankie Walker, teamed up with James to launch UNKNWN in 2011. The company set headquarters in Miami back when LeBron was still playing for the Miami Heat. This collaboration with LBJ’s 20th signature shoe, the Nike LeBron 20 is an ode to James’ longevity. The “Message in a Bottle” is inspired by connecting one generation of hoopers to the next.
This collaborative pair features a light bone fuzzy suede base mimicking sands on beaches. Aqua blue accents on the Swooshes and tongue resemble the waters. Co-branded UNKNWN logo and LeBron’s signature adorn the tongue. The Olive tones on the speckled midsole keep the design consistent, making it the perfect summer hoop shoe. Glow-in-the-dark details on the lateral Swoosh and icy sole bring more impressive features to finish off the collaboration. This colourway is the third collaborative pair following the “UNINTERRUPTED” and FaZe Clan renditions.
