Nike TN Air Max Plus Longtaitou Festival

The Swoosh carries on celebrating Chinese tradition with its Longtatiou Festival-themed TN Air Max Plus. Loosely translating to “dragon raising its head”, the festival was first celebrated in the Tang and Song dynasties, where people offer up to the Dragon God in hopes for a good farming season ahead. Combining all the vibrant energy that surrounds the celebrations into one neatly packaged shoe, Nike has created an playful edition which is sure to interest fans of the TN.

This Air Max Plus edition embraces the colours usually found on the decorative dragons, dressing the upper with a respective gradient of pink, white and blue. The inside lining has been given a French terry treatment that flows onto the piping around the looped eyestays and heel. In an unconventional move, Nike has pre-tied the laces so that they wrap around the shoe, which is certainly a first for the TN. Given that a lot of people will cut their hair during the second lunar month to avoid bad luck, the insoles detail the stereotypical barbershop floor as a nod to the cultural oddity. Following on with that narrative, Nike has added a spare pair of cream laces and laces tips so that you too can cut away whatever length you find suitable.
