Salomon XT-6 10Y Fiery Red

Back in 2013, the sixth generation of what started out as the Salomon XT-Wings, hit the market. The XT-6 was the sixth iteration of Salomon’s signature Trail Running shoe, built with hardcore athletes in mind. To celebrate its 10th Anniversary, Salomon is issuing the XT-6 in a “Fiery Red” make-up that arrives in that secretive prototype aesthetic. Releasing in highly limited quantities, you’ll want to make sure you stay ahead of the action if you’re set on picking these up!

The all-red tooling is a staple colourway that Salomon leans on with new iterations of its trail running shoes, such as the Speedcross 5 from 2019 which debuted in a similar bright-red palette. Another huge red-shoe moment for the brand occurred in 2023, with global superstar Rhianna causing a frenzy within the fashion world after sporting a pair of MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon Cross Low Sneaker “Fiery Red” during her halftime show at the Super Bowl. As far as Salomon is concerned, its red shoe repertoire is second-to-none.

From heel to toe, this XT-6 ‘10Y Fiery Red’ is based in a monochromatic hue, with only contrasting Salomon branding near the ankle collar. The brand’s signature LAB logo is here in extra large font, the word “PROTOTYPE” underneath, mimicking the early 2013 samples handed over to the brand’s Ultra Endurance athletes in order for rigorous testing. All the classic tropes and tooling are kept the same on this pair, so expect reliable XT-6 comfort with these.

Supposedly limited to only 804 pairs worldwide, these will drop in super small quantities on the 28th of March via the Salomon website. Each pair is also numbered and arrives in limited edition packaging that includes a special bag and socks.
