If there's something that the sneaker industry is craving, it's certainly more women. In this male-dominated world, it's nice to hear that German sportswear giant, adidas, has turned to the girls to create a speciality running trainer, the Ultraboost 22.
In case you didn't know, there are a few anatomical differences between the male and female foot, so female designers and product developers have been working hard on creating a 360-degree improved fit that's based purely on the female foot. This includes a narrower heel, a lower instep and the unique S-curve heel, meaning that the Achilles tendon is able to move more freely during your run.
The brand aim to represent women in all areas of their work, and believe that this 'created by women, for women' sneaker is a huge milestone in their long-term commitment to making the best products for women as they can. Tailored specifically to the female foot, adidas have create an entirely new upper that includes a brand-new torsion system (the plastic arch that allows the forefoot and rearfoot to move independently, FYI), which has been combined with the iconic BOOST midsole that delivers comfort, energy return and bounce in abundance!
As well as their commitment to women, the Three-Stripe brand have made PRIMEKNIT+ that contains 50% recycled ocean plastic, ensuring that the earth is looked after too.
The adidas Ultraboost 22 will be available on for everyone on December 9th at adidas in the "Magic Mauve" colourway (pictured) as well as a plethora of other iterations. However, if you're an adidas member, you can get your hands on them right now by clicking the links on this page. We're so glad to see these steps being taken by a major brand to ensure that the female sports experience is just as good and as appreciated as the guys'.
