Central Cee links up with British-turned-Atlanta native 21 Savage for another hit song. As both rapper’s arrive with a strong performance, we could not help but notice the level of heat that was laced on feet. While 21 Savage plays it low-key with his sneaker selection, Cee proves that he knows his trainers, so we created a list of all the creps we noticed him wearing in the “GBP” music video.
Throughout the three minute runtime we see the two artist trade bars over a catchy instrumental with a British flag draped in the background, a symbol that Savage couldn’t escape a few years back after the public found out about his London-upbringing. Now the tide has changed, with the rapper embracing his UK connections with arguably the island’s hottest export in Central Cee.
Although 21 Savage sticks to more subtle colourways such as the murdered out Shox R4 “Triple Black”, this may be because as he says himself “I still want a deal with Nike” but doesn’t want to give them too much shine before they sign on the dotted line. On the other hand Cee can be spotted wearing a slew of Nike silhouettes from the classic “Triple White” Air Force 1 to a pair of Foamposites, showing us his range in footwear.
Of course it is only right that the artist plugged his Syna World x Air Max 95 at the beginning of the video, spitting “red carpet with my tracky and Air Max, they want a boy with a London style”. True to his word, Cee is notorious for turning up to red carpet events in a tracksuit such as The Fashion Awards in 2022 where he arrived rocking a Montirex beanie, hoodie with tech fleece bottoms. Next time the carpet is rolled out, expect Cee to be wearing his Syna World x Nike Tech Fleece set from head-to-toe, with a pair of his Syna World 110s on-feet to match.
Speaking of, we expect to see the Central Cee Air Max 95 increase in value during 2025 as the model continues to increase in popularity so cop while you can!
While we didn’t expect to see Central Cee in a pair of Air Jordan 12s in 2025, the all-red and black theme is neatly put together. Donning a matching Supreme x The North Face “trompe l’oeil” Taped Seam Shell Jacket and Mountain Pant from the Spring/Summer 2023, the “Reverse Flu Game” AJ12s are the icing on the cake. While this outfit leans heavily on the hypebeast era of the mid-2010s, the Denim Tears fitted on top is a subtle reminder that we are very much in the 2020s. Although ‘Reverse’ colourways are sometimes dismissed by OG Sneakerheads, who in this instance would much rather own the classic “Flu Game” Jordan 12s, it is a pair that will likely get a tip of the hat from the Jordan fans over in the states.
Now that Cee has worn one of the less appreciated Jordan silhouettes, will we see an uptick in AJ12s on the streets of the UK? It is unlikely, however it would be an interesting change from the already popular Air Jordan 4s, so we are definitely here for it.
Following on with the rose gold theme that Cee used on his Nike collaboration we see him wearing the “Metallic Copper” Foamposite, a shoe with a similar hue. Worn in the dice-throwing scene with 21, Cee strings up the Copper Foams with an all-black fit, allowing the ‘90s cult favourite to take the spotlight. If you are after a Nike basketball shoe with plenty of history that is remains largely untapped over in the UK, then picking up a pair of Foamposite Ones would be a great addition to your rotation. Just be aware though that there is a break-in period on the Foamposites, after which they become super comfortable and end up becoming an easy go-to.
Last but not least is the “Triple Black” Air Force 1, another shoe in the Swoosh’s catalogue that needs no introduction. With a rose gold cuban around his neck and a Queen’s head pendant to go with it, the ‘murdered out’ Forces have no choice but to take a backseat to the hugely expensive accessory. Sparing no cost on his Gucci x The North Face padded jacket either, Cee proves once again that Air Force 1s can be dressed both up and down.
Adding another notch to the “Triple White” Force’s belt, Cee spits ““Nike tech fleece with an Air Force 1, my ski mask on but we don’t snowboard”, tying the icon neatly to London culture. Paying homage to the white-on-whites, Central Cee sports an all-white ‘fit, with a baggy snow pant and iced out chains that play on the double meaning of his ‘snowboard’ bar (we’ll let you figure that one out). Setting the bar high, if you think you can make the Air Force 1 “Triple White” look better then we will be here waiting patiently.
Are all these Air Force bars a hint at a future Central Cee x Air Force 1 collaboration or are we reaching? We already know they would fly off the shelves but let us know what you think on our socials!
