It would seem thieves don't always dress in all-black, but sometimes they arrive in yellow and red uniforms too. Chances are if you're a Nike fan in Memphis, Tennessee, you might be wondering where your new kicks might have got to, and we're afraid it's not good news.
A former DHL employee by the name of Chamon Davis has been officially charged with the theft of over $60,000 USD worth of Nike products as of earlier this week. Investigations first started into the issue when both DHL and Nike received a spate of complaints about missing products, with some even having the packaging arrive at their homes with nothing inside.
Davis managed to pull off this heist of epic proportions by duplicating the tracking numbers found on the product's packaging and then by diverting to an alternate address. As it stands, Nike has only been able to secure $10,000 USD's worth of its merchandise back with the rest seemingly MIA.
Unfortunately, as many sneakerheads realise, courier thefts are becoming more and more common across the world. This could be due to the booming sneaker market, but we're sure the obvious and recognisable packaging some brands are choosing to use isn't helping things. In other news, Kanye West is apparently taking over Virgil Abloh's position at Louis Vuitton.
