The Blueu Burnham x New Balance 991v1 has got NB-heads and Instagram’s best-dressed coming out in droves. News broke over the weekend about a collaboration between London-based jewellery brand Bleue Burnham and New Balance UK, and let’s just say getting your hands on 1 of 240 pairs won’t be easy.

A lot of the online comments around this New Balance release point to how phenomenal a shoe it is, how annoyingly limited the drop is, and how it should make its way onto the feet of now-Prime Minister, Andy Burnham.

Well, I’m not sure how much of a New Balance fan Burnham actually is, but considering he’s an Everton fan, he’ll likely be open to anything remotely blue. Although, considering he’s a Toffee, getting an L in the mailing list draw would be a sad yet familiar feeling.

Bleue Burnham says, "the trainer balances formal structure with playful wildness. Drawing directly from the garden’s colours and character, precise structural stitching sits alongside free-flowing ‘wild garden’ stitching. A testament to the shared commitment to craftsmanship between both brands, each ‘wild garden’ stitch line is applied entirely by hand.”

As a fellow appreciator of the Made in UK series, I can confirm that this pair is particularly tasteful, however we’ll soon find that its retail cost might not be as palatable.

Considering the price of a typical NB 991v1, you’ll likely have to fork out anywhere from £220-£250 for this limited edition Bleue Burnham x New Balance. This is mainly down to the extra cost per unit when doing a smaller unit run, not to mention the extra time taken to achieve the embroidered detailing along the upper.
