Nike is ready to unleash another version of Tinker Hatfield’s classic 1990 design, this time with exotic animal skins on the upper. This release brings back memories of the 2004 Air Max 90 “Python,” a model that was a big hit with Air Max fans in the early to mid 2000s and was also the inspiration for the Python Grey and Python Green variants of 2019.
We recently talked about Nike's Air Force 1 Low “Snakeskin” slithering into the Lunar New Year collection to celebrate the Year of the Snake. Now we've got news of the Air Max 90 getting a makeover for the Chinese New Year, giving this iconic silhouette a luxe upgrade.
In this new edition, Nike uses a rich colour scheme. Unlike the darker tones used for the upcoming AF1 sneakers, the Air Max 90 “Snakeskin” comes in a mix of Malt, Velvet Brown, Light Orewood Brown, and Flax. These earthy tones emphasise the textured “Snakeskin” overlays around the collar and toe. This design looks elegant and nods to the snake’s symbolism of wisdom and transformation; a meaningful style for the New Year.
Besides looking good, the Air Max 90 “Snakeskin” keeps the features fans love about this model. It hasthe Air cushioning for all day comfort. Tonal laces and earthy Nike branding finish off the look, giving it a grounded and trendy aura.
