First launched back in 1989 as the OG AJ4 colourway, the Air Jordan 4 “Fire Red” is an absolutely timeless sneaker that’s adored by plenty. For the first time ever since the original release, the pair was retro’d with the revered Nike Air logo on the heel tab in 2020. As far as Jordan launches go, they don’t get much better than this. To no surprises, the pair quickly sold out and proved difficult for many sneakerheads to get their hands on.
During the peak of Yeezy hype, back in 2015 Kanye West and adidas unveiled the Yeezy Boost 350 V1 “Moonrock”. This was the first time a neutral-hued colourway featured across the in-demand silhouette and it subsequently sent shockwaves through the sneaker community. Plenty of retailers launched these first-come-first-serve, resulting in overnight queues that stretched the full-length of streets. One of the most memorable Yeezy releases of all time!
Designed as a tribute to the original AJ1 “Bred” colourway, the Air Jordan 1 High OG “Bloodline” hit stores back in November 2019. While now this is a relatively difficult Jordan to track down, at the time these were hugely overlooked. Believe it or not, plenty of pairs of this release even ended up in the sale section at certain retailers! While at the time they might have been labelled as “bricks”, any real sneakerheads would know that a Bred inspired AJ1 would always be a winner.
While the Nike Air Huarache is currently undergoing a huge resurgence as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations, back in 2012 the model was given a special treatment by the Swoosh brand that involved using the silhouette as a base for a hybrid that also utilised the Free midsole technology. The result was the Nike Air Huarache Free, a sneaker that debuted in plenty of OG Huarache colourways and proved to be a hit with fans of the silhouette and general sneakerheads alike.
Another Black Friday season release to hit our list comes in the form of the Air Jordan 1 “Cyber Monday”. Celebrating the Monday after Black Friday, this pair showcases a brilliantly pared-back take on the classic 1985 silhouette that consists of an effortlessly clean monochromatic colourway. Black leather adorns the entirety of the uppers with the wings logo embossed onto the collar, while a whited-out midsole creates the perfect contrast. Possibly the most wearable pair of AJ1s ever created!
While they may not be the peak of popularity when it comes to hyped sneakers right now, the adidas NMD_R1 once reigned supreme above all else. Back in these glory days, all NMD collaborations were hugely popular, so naturally when A Bathing Ape announced it would be working with adidas Originals on an NMD_R1 the sneaker world proceeded to go crazy. The Japanese label’s signature camouflage branding sits perfectly atop the sleek look of the silhouette, with these still retaining classic status amongst collectors.
If you’re familiar with Nike colourways then you may well have encountered a “What The?” release before, which in short are mashups of the most well-known colourways of a certain silhouette. The Air Jordan 4 “What The?” was launched on the 23rd November 2019 and showcased the best elements from the “White Cement”, “Military Blue”, “Fire Red” and “Black Cement” variations of the 1989 Tinker Hatfield silhouette. If you’re an AJ4 fan then these are a must for the rotation!
One of the oldest sneakers included in our list comes in the form of the Nike SB Dunk High “Bloody Sunday”. While the peak early days of the SB Dunk had subsided by 2007, the Swoosh sub-division was still pumping out top tier releases, such as this premium pair that are inspired by U2’s famous single “Sunday Bloody Sunday”. Offering up red velvet details and a gold-trimmed Swoosh logo, if you’re a serious SB head then you’ll likely already know about this release. If you’re after a pair now they likely won’t be the easiest to track down in solid condition.
First seen during a 1993 NBA All Star game and also an original colourway of the AJ8, the “Aqua” rendition is easily one of the most popular 8’s to ever exist. This particular sneaker acted as Jordan Brand’s big Black Friday release of 2015 and to this day remains a popular choice for fans of the label. While the AJ8 isn’t necessarily one of the most popular of MJ’s signature sneakers, the pair has a cult following and even received a collaborative release courtesy of OVO back in 2018.
Rounding off our list of the hottest November sneakers is the Air Jordan 3 “True Blue” that was revisited back in 2016. An original AJ3 colourway, the True Blues from this year were the first retro version to feature the Nike Air logo on the heel tab since 1988, a feature which Jordan fans go absolutely wild for. Combine this with the hard-hitting colourway and classic elephant print and you have an instant winner. We reckon these are due another retro soon!
