There’s no denying that retro kicks have dominated this year’s releases, with basketball, running, and terrace styles all cementing their place in the wider sneaker scene. While we love seeing the industry continue to innovate with new models, there’s definitely something to be said for timeless styles, so we’ve rounded up some of our favourite retro silhouettes that are all available at Office right now.
Check out our selection below, and remember that all of these are set to sell out very quickly, so hit the links to shop and get ahead of the trends!
First up, an Air Jordan 1 is a must-have for any sneaker collection, and this pair just happens to arrive in classic Chicago-inspired colours. Though some sneaker fans don’t hold the mid-top version in as high regard as the Jordan 1 High, rumour has it that MJ actually preferred the AJ1 Mid due to it being less restrictive around the ankle – a factor that really came into play when the Jordan 3 was released. Released alongside its high-top counterpart in 1985, the AJ1 is a seriously classic sneaker with a whole load of history behind it, and worthy of any rotation.
Another style with roots in basketball, the New Balance 550 has had quite the year, with retailers all over the country struggling to keep the style in stock. Facing a surge in popularity after Aimé Leon Dore founder and Creative Director of NB’s Made in USA line, Teddy Santis, brought the silhouette back with an ALD collab, this is easily one of our favourite retro styles right now, so don’t miss out on your chance to cop while they’re still in stock here!
We spy a bit of a retro runner resurgence on the horizon, so if you’re looking to get ahead of the trend nice and early, consider adding a pair of New Balance 530s to your collection. Originally designed as a performance runner, the mesh panels on this pair give off serious 90s vibes, and thanks to New Balance’s signature ABZORB technology, they’re super comfy as well as on-trend.
Building on the retro runner vibes, ASICS is another brand that’s set to have a big year, so here’s your chance to get in early. Hot off the back of a JJJJound collab, the brand is looking to capitalise on their signature aesthetic, and the ASICS GEL-1090 does exactly that. Having launched in 2004, this style easily slots into the Y2K trend of the moment, and we feel that these are going to be very popular very soon!
Finally, you really can’t go wrong with a good old pair of Gazelles. With terrace styles trending right now, we suggest copping while you still can, as these won’t be around for long. The adidas Gazelle dates back to the 1960s (we did say retro!) yet has remained a firm favourite of the sneaker scene ever since. Models don’t come more classic than this, so if you don’t have a pair in your rotation yet, now’s the time to get on it!
