Streetwear Meets High Fashion with the Maison Margiela x Reebok Classic Leather Tabi

The world of streetwear and high fashion has undeniably changed over recent years, collaborations between these two fashion sectors have become more present, overall bridging the divide. Not so long ago, we saw John Galliano-led French luxury fashion house Maison Margiela joined forces with sportswear giant Reebok to bring forth a crossover between their widely-loved Tabi shoes and Reebok's 1983 timeless running silhouette done up with wear away painted upper, and it was a sure hit but it appears that fashionistas longed for more. Thus, the power duo has reunited once again on the Maison Margiela x Reebok Classic Leather Tabi, this time dressed in two standard fan-favourite "Triple White" and "Triple Black" colorways.

Finely crafted with premium Nappa leather overlays, the Classic Leather was reconstructed in order to house the Tabi's famed split-toe construction upfront. This unique design takes its inspiration from Japan's traditional jika-tabi shoes from the early 20th century and was invented to improve balance through the separation of the big toe.

As with most luxury footwear models, branding is kept minimal with the Parisian high-end label's signature number chart joined with Reebok branding on the tongue and insoles alike hued in the opposing colour for a monochromatic dash of contrast. Of course, these co-branded high-luxe sneakers come with top-of-the-line cushioning technology providing an unbelievable amount of comfort.

Officially scheduled to launch on February 26 via Reebok and many select retailers internationally, the Maison Margiela x Reebok Classic Leather Tabi "Triple White" and "Triple Black" comes with a heavy price tag of £230 a pair.
