Summer 2026 has been the summer of all sports. The Knicks won the NBA Finals, we’re locked in watching the World Cup (England just beat Mexico in their own turf and are in for the quarter-finals), and, last but not least, we’re halfway through Wimbledon 2026.
In the tennisverse, Wimbledon is up there as the OG. Not only is this tennis tournament the oldest in the world, it’s also infamous for its customs – such as the all-white dress code, its grass courts, and the strawberries and cream of it all. From its attendees (including the likes of Zendaya, Tom Holland and David Beckham) to its players like Naomi Osaka (who’s notorious for her avant-garde court outfits), Wimbledon owns the fashion space. With Naomi Osaka turning the court into the runway and Coco Bauff dripped out in New Balance, we’re gathering inspo for our next Wimbledon watch. These are the best tennis pieces to buy now, for men and for women.

A rule formed back in the 1800s, the initial purpose of Wimbledon’s all-white dress code was to reduce the appearance of sweat stains as they were considered “improper”. In line with the all-white requirements, we’re kitting out with a white tennis dresses, white T-shirts, shorts and tops.

Until the early 20th century, tennis players wore long-sleeve button-up shirts, flannel trousers and ties – as you can imagine that was astronomically uncomfortable for the players. French tennis legend René Lacoste took matters into his own hands and designed his own uniform. The seven-time Grand Slam champion introduced the first three-button tennis shirt at the 1926 US Open. In 1927, he added a crocodile logo on his shirts, owning his nickname “The Crocodile”. Needless to say Lacoste is now more famous for his shirts rather than his legendary tennis career. If you’re not feeling Lacoste though, don’t worry, there’s so many options out there by a diverse range of brands – from Roger Federer’s Uniqlo collection to adidas.

Tennis shoes are making a noticeable comeback in 2026. With the continuous popularity of the low-profile silhouette and the return of indie sleaze, it’s not a surprise that we’re seeing tennis shoes off the court again. And in a time where we have such an array of shoes in our rotations, a pared back simple tennis shoe might just be what we’re missing. Saying that, we’re really into this Nike Vapor 12 Hypersmash – the racket strings detail is insane.

Tennis is famously a summer sport, let’s be real. It’s a sport for shorts, skirts and generally breathable fabrics. From comfortable skorts to lightweight tennis shorts these pieces are easily worn on and off the court.

If you watch tennis, you know it’s all about the accessories. Especially in Wimbledon where players are kind of restricted in what they can wear, sportsmen and sportswomen come out in the greatest court swag. Think bags, hats, expensive Rolexes from their sponsors, or, if you’re Naomi Osaka, a kimono.
