Is this the future of Air? Nike seems to think so. Teaming up with 3D-printing powerhouse Zellerfeld, the Swoosh has just unveiled the Air Max 95000, a silhouette that feels more like a sci-fi prototype than a sneaker set to drop this month.
First teased at ComplexCon Las Vegas, the Air Max 95000 isn't just a nod to the past; it's a full-blown reinvention of the Air Max legacy. Drawing cues from the futuristic Air Max 1000 and reimagining the DNA of the Air Max 95, this new iteration is equal parts heritage and high-tech.
Think: a sculptural 3D-printed chassis fused with Nike’s iconic "Big Bubble" Air Zoom unit in the heel and a secondary unit in the forefoot. The result? A smooth, spring-loaded ride that feels like walking on a cloud engineered in a lab.
Zellerfeld's fingerprints are quite literally all over this one. The Hamburg-born startup has built a rep for disrupting the sneaker game with waste-free, on-demand, digitally manufactured kicks. Trusted by everyone from Louis Vuitton to Sean Wotherspoon, their tech isn’t just clever; it's the future. And now, Nike's fully on board.
"We never would have been able to create this silhouette using traditional methods," says Brittany Shelton, VP of North America Brand Management at Nike. It shows. The Air Max 95000 boasts a contoured, hyper-modern design that wouldn’t look out of place in a Blade Runner reboot.
Available in a slick "Black Volt" colourway, if you're in the US then you can expect the sneaker to drop on the 28 November 2025 via Nike SNKRS and Zellerfeld’s own site. However if you are based in the UK and EU, the drop will be limited to Zellerfeld's own website on the 28th November at a retail of $249 / £220 (Pound Sterling RRP speculated).
But beyond the hype and high-spec design, the 95000 signifies something deeper: a shift in how sneakers are made, worn, and experienced. This isn't just a shoe. It's a signpost for where the culture is heading.
So, whether you’re a tech head, Air Max loyalist, or just here for the flex, one thing’s clear: the Air Max 95000 isn’t playing by the old rules. It’s rewriting them, one printed pair at a time.
