The Swoosh team's Air technology has evolved in various ways throughout its storied history, with silhouettes like the Air Max 1, Air Max 90, AM95, and AM97 still at the forefront today. Although, a few other cult classics have started to appear on the shelves once again, including the Air Huarache and Air Max BW. Today, the Air Kukini from 2000 is reportedly receiving a revival with two colourways at the lead.
The Nike Air Kukini "Dark Green/Black" and "Orange/Olive" are the two renditions we've got in hand today. The model features a soft and breathable mesh base supported by synthetic materials and webbed TPU overlays for additional structure and durability.
Adding to the material palette is tumbled leather heel caps matching the tonal counterparts. Underfoot, a visible Air unit resides in the heel with an outdoor-ready treading attached to the midsole complete the old school look—unlike the retroed offerings in 2012 that came with an outsole borrowed from the Nike Free silhouette.
