If you're an avid sneaker collector, you know how releases work, there are many colourways you've surely missed out on regardless of when you set foot in the sneaker universe. That being said, we've all grown accustomed to archived silos and OG designs returning to Nike's release calendar and if you've been on the search for a pair that holds absolute grail status the moment you see it, then the Nike Air Max 90 Evolution of Icons is everything you've ever dreamt of.
Initially released in the '90s and designed by none other than legendary Nike employee Tinker Hatfield, this latest AM90 variant pays homage to its iconic colourways from the past. The pair keeps the sportswear giant's famous Air cushioning technology encased within the midsole for optimal cushioning, while the graphic insoles inside depict all variants of "Air" emblems from the archive and vintage-inspired coloured TV bars land on the branded tongues for a full retro aesthetic.
The structure works on a white mesh base accompanied by off-white rich suede overlays, both setting the stage for contrasting colours pop. Underfoot, sneaker lovers will recognise a Hyper Royal colourway coating the rubber segment beneath the toes. This is then followed by Infrared shaded around the visible Air unit midsole, Laser Blue accents filling in the midfoot Swooshes, finally rounded off with Volt tones adorning the eyestays and rubberised heel badge that we all know and love.
What is there not to love about the Nike Air Max 90 "EOI"? It possesses all the signature colours of OG Air Max designs while still delivering head-turner features and an insane level of comfort.
