In case you didn’t know, the 1982 Nike Air Force 1 is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, which - lucky for us - means a plethora of new AF1 offerings to enjoy all year long. Designed by Nike legend Bruce Kilgore, the Air Force 1 has remained pretty much unchanged since its inception, and despite new takes on the silhouette appearing every now and again, such a the Shadow, Sage and Pixel, the classic silhouette remains a staple in sneakerheads’ wardrobes around the globe. Taking on a DIY approach that almost looks like a custom, the Nike Air Force 1 “Blue Dip Dye” will have heads turning.
Constructed from suede and canvas, rather than the usual leather upper, this AF-1 is dyed bright blue, and due to the textures and nature of the contrasting materials, the results look completely different. On the suede profile Swooshes and branding heel tab, the result of the dye-job appears a darker toned blue, whilst the colour on the canvas body takes on a much cooler tone. The rubber outsole appears in the same colour as the darker accents above, but the laces blend into the canvas upper. The result? One delicious-looking sneaker that’s not going to look out of place in any rotation.
Thanks to the canvas construction, this is bound to be a hardy sneaker, but the suede adds that hint of a premium feel that we’re looking for these days. These certainly hit the brief when it comes to standing out.
There’s currently no further information regarding when the Nike Air Force 1 “Powder Blue” will be releasing, but keep it locked into The Sole Supplier, as we’ll be the first to let you know about a release date and where you can cop as soon as we know.
In other news, check out this spring-ready AF1 Mid that was recently unveiled.
