Shopping for sneakers as a woman in the scene isn’t always easy, but thankfully brands and retailers are starting to take note of the struggle. One retailer that’s doing the most right now is END. Clothing, as the platform has just opened up its first-ever dedicated womenswear store in the brand’s hometown of Newcastle. Covering sneakers, streetwear, skincare and luxury goods, END. pretty much does it all, but in celebration of it flying the flag for the females in the scene, we thought we’d share some of our favourite female-focussed sneaker collabs that are still available to buy there right now.
First up, Jacquemus and Nike dropped the first instalment of their eagerly-awaited collaboration earlier this year, with two Nike Air Humara colourways making up the footwear options. Though the “Beige” pair is long sold-out, there are still a couple of the “Brown” iterations sitting in stock. The colourway is a bit of a grower, but with the dark nights and bad weather drawing ever closer, they’re actually a much more practical option than their counterpart, and the trail shoe silhouette slots perfectly into the Gorpcore trend.
NAKED CPH is another retailer that’s been flying the flag for female sneakerheads for a good while now. The store often teams up with brands on collaborative pairs, and its take on the ASICS GEL-1130 is one of our favourites so far. Retro runners have been big this year and we expect to see the trend continue into 2023 and we love the minty-coloured accents, so be sure to get ahead now while they’re still in stock!
Finally, AMBUSH’s Yoon Ahn is easily one of the most pioneering women in streetwear, and her Nike collaborations are always to die for. For this pair, she delved deep into the Swoosh brand’s archive to resurrect the Air Adjust Force, before updating it with a planet-friendly Grind Rubber sole and AMBUSH branding. The retro sneaker is pretty different to the other throwback styles on the market right now, but we think that just makes them look even better.
Which pair are you going for? Let us know, and don't forget to check out the rest of the women's selection over on END.
