Just as Supreme showcases its forthcoming and extensive SS22 collection, new rumours have begun to circulate for the New York streetwear imprint. According to sources, Supreme has now named visionary Tremaine Emory as its new creative director. While Emory is yet to verify the news himself, a representative from Supreme has confirmed the announcement.
For those unaware of Tremaine Emory's work, he's a multi-faceted creator responsible for projects within the fashion, culture and nightlife worlds. Having previously advised the likes of Kanye West, Frank Ocean and many more, Emory possess a wealth of both cultural and streetwear knowledge, ideal for a brand of Supreme's calibre.
James Jebbia, the brand's lead designer and founder, will still continue to oversee Supreme in all aspects, including financially and creatively. It is said Jebbia and Emory will be working closely together in the future.
It is also worth noting, Emory will continue his ongoing work with Denim Tears in addition to his new duties at Supreme. With many fans questioning the quality of Supreme's past few seasons, this new move could be exactly what the brand needs to spark new interest. In other news, London streetwear imprint Palace set to launch its third Spring 2022 drop.
