Glastonbury may be taking a hiatus this year, but that doesn’t mean we’re not having a festival season this summer. Primavera and Coachella may be over but we still have All Points East, BST, Reading and Leeds coming soon, so buckle up because we need to figure out what we’re wearing.
Gone are the days of the flower crowns and intricate festival dressing (we really were doing the most in the 2010s). Festival outfits in 2026 are more lowkey, we’re all going for denim shorts, boots and tank tops. As we’re halfway through the festival season, we’ve already gotten some festival outfit inspo from our favourite it-girls at Primavera and Coachella. These are the trends we’ve spotted.

Surprise, surprise, low-waisted denim shorts are a huge staple in festival-wear this year. This might be a bit of a basic option, we know, but it’s a go-to for a reason. You can dress your denim shorts up or down, wear them with boots or trainers, and they’re comfortable enough to wear all day.
It feels like we’re going back to 2010s fashion of indie sleaze, think Kate Moss at Glasto vibes of denim cutoffs with a basic tank and thick boots. It’s more about the comfort and the practicality rather than the fit – we’re just keeping it nonchalant. Olivia Neill and Ruby Lyn here are the perfect example of how a simple outfit sometimes is the best choice.

Similarly to denim shorts, sometimes a tank top is all you need. Whether it’s black, white or something in between, it’s a staple piece that won’t disappoint you. At Coachella, understated dressing was king, and we saw the likes of Emma Chamberlain and Hailey Bieber prioritising comfort and wearing their favourite tank tops. Love Emma styling her tank with big sunglasses and a bandana, accessories like that add a bit of whimsy and personality to a minimal outfit.

The moment Hailey Bieber wears something, you know it’s going to be trending the next day. Watching her husband Justin Bieber at Bieberchella this year in a retro ‘90s-vibe track jacket, was kind of iconic, so of course she’s on the moodboard.
Even though it’s summer, it’s still a bit chilly in the evenings, so an oversized track jacket is a must-have for practical reasons (we need to keep warm, after all). Follow Hailey’s footsteps and opt for a ‘90s rave unisex style.

It’s not a festival fit if there’s no boots involved, sorry. Whether it’s cowboy boots, wellies or a biker boot it’s up to you. They’ll protect you from mud or potential stomping, and they’ll look insanely good with your denim shorts.

Mogging is compulsory on festival grounds, and for that you need a good pair of statement shades. Look for oversized sunglasses, the more bug-like the better, or opt for a sportier frame like Hailey Bieber on the picture above.

Accessorising is key at any festival, especially if you’re wearing a more understated outfit. Add a chunky y2k belt, layer bangles and fun bracelets, and wear a bandana for a cheeky pop of colour.

It’s summer, and it’s festival season – we need some colour in our fits. Whether that’s via accessories (like we mentioned above) or with a bold top or a bright shoe, festivals should be about having fun and dressing fun. If you’re more of a sneaker girlie, and not feeling the 2013-circa Glasto look, opt for a yellow or a green low-profile trainer. It’s lowkey and comfortable enough to run around in all day, but also adds some dimension to your outfit.
