First introduced as a lightweight running shoe, the adidas SL72 celebrates 50 years with new stunning colourways. This archival silhouette recently appeared in the exclusive Wales Bonner x adidas AW23 collection, boosting the silhouette’s popularity in the contemporary sneaker scene. The adidas SL72 “Night Indigo” arrives in a vibrant colour palette that’s ready to hit the streets.

Hailing from the ‘70s, the adidas SL72 was the pioneer running shoe of the SL (super light) series, redefining the standards of lightweight running shoes to achieve new personal bests. This colourway starts with a navy blue nylon upper with indigo blue suede overlays covering the toe, mudguard, eyestay, and lower rear. Mint green accents animate the serrated 3-Stripes and laces, adding vibrance atop the predominantly dark-based colour scheme. Noticeably missing from this iteration is the signature gold foil print on the lateral quarter panel. Instead, the adidas branding on the textured tongue incorporates the luxe gold labelling. An embossed adidas Trefoil logo subtly sits on the leather heel tab. The low-profile EVA midsole consists of dual-density foam, split in peach orange and cream white accents to render a vintage look. The durable black rubber sole wraps up the attractive array of colours of this adidas SL72.
