adidas Handball Pro SPZL Clear Blue

Long-time adidas designer Gary Aspden is back with his latest SPZL capsule to kick off the year on a high note. Part of the Spezial Pre-Spring 24 collection, the adidas SPZL Handball Pro “Clear Blue” resurfaces from the archives, decked out in a sleek, distinct get-up inspired by a Made in Germany vintage athletic shoe.

This iteration boasts a light blue mesh underlay overlaid by contrast navy blue suede panels flaunting buttery smooth textures. The colour combination took notes from a Russian-made indoor trainer, another model stashed in Aspden’s treasure trove of archival kicks. Deviating from the design of the brand’s Handball trainer, the T-toe overlays have been replaced with asymmetrical double stitch lines to reinforce the front portion. Crisp white leather 3-Stripes with classic serrated edges bolster the sidewalls, complementing the colour-matched heel tabs. The nylon tongue features punctured ventilation holes for breathability adorned with a co-branded woven bluebird label. Mod Trefoil and classic adidas Trefoil logos decorate the rear. A standard gum rubber sole lies underneath the upper as a finishing touch.
